Discover the world of some of the real-life heroes of the Viking world, including Eric Bloodaxe – last Viking King of York, Canute the Great, and warrior woman Lathgertha. Learn how these Viking heroes were celebrated and commemorated, and what stories the archaeological evidence can tell us.

Genuine Viking relics, replica objects and projections provide an insight into the Viking world.

Learn about Viking myths and gods in our Viking encampment, which has story-telling, games, craft activities and dressing up.

We are also offering a peek into Anglo-Saxon Wolverhampton, including a 360° video walkthrough of the settlement in about AD 900, and the story of the historic battle of Wodensfield
that took place in 910, the specific location is still the subject of heated debate.
